What it funds

What to Do This Week 

1. Check the Minnesota Beginning Farmer deadline — Applications close March 26 at 4 pm CT. If you've farmed 10 years or less in Minnesota, this is a quick-turnaround grant worth pursuing.

2. Submit Frederick County and Working Here Fund ($5k) — Both close March 31. If you're in Frederick County MD or AgCountry's service area, get proposals in this week.

3. Try Horizon Weather — Visit horizon-weather-2603131126.web.app on your desktop browser. It's in pre-alpha — your feedback helps shape what it becomes.

4. Contact FSA about FBA and CRP — Both close April 17. If you haven't enrolled in FBA or submitted a CRP bid, call your FSA office this week before the spring rush.

5. Start VAPG and VSGP applications — VSGP closes April 16, VAPG closes April 22. Both require lead time — line up matching funds (VAPG) and confirm shortage status (VSGP) now.

6. Georgia producers: apply for Hurricane Helene relief — Applications are open through April 27 at farmrecovery.com. Document your losses and apply now.
