One Farmer, One File Modernization

USDA announced a unified record initiative across FSA, NRCS and RMA to reduce paperwork. Producers will be able to update information once and share it seamlessly across agencies. Read more.

Farmer & Rancher Freedom Framework

USDA unveiled a four-pillar plan to protect producers, preserve land and liberty, purge burdensome regulations and partner for agriculture's future. The framework aims to end "ag-lawfare" and cut production costs. Read more.

Farm Bill Negotiations

The House Agriculture Committee introduced the Farm, Food and National Security Act of 2026 and scheduled markup hearings. Chairman Glenn "GT" Thompson said the bill will "provide certainty to our farmers, ranchers and rural communities." Read more.

Specialty Crop

Fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, herbs, honey and nursery crops (including flowers) that are eligible for Specialty Crop Block Grant funding.

Letter of Intent (LOI)

A preliminary document expressing a proposer's intent to submit a full application. Some research programs like AFRI require LOIs before inviting full proposals.
