🌿 Fresh Dirt Alert · Sponsored | | | PFI Cover Crop Cost-Share Program Iowa is the primary home base of this program and most enrolled acres are here. Practical Farmers of Iowa is offering $15/acre on an unlimited number of acres of fall-seeded cover crops, plus one-on-one agronomic support. Conventional corn and soybean operations are eligible — this is specifically designed for the row-crop farmer who knows cover crops make sense but hasn't been able to absorb the upfront cost alone. Enrollment is first-come, first-served and closes when acres fill. Cover crops must be seeded by December 1. Stacks with EQIP, SWCD cost-share and Farmers for Soil Health. Funded by PepsiCo and Cargill.
To maximize what you get from this program, Sentinel Ag is a tool you can leverage. Satellite imagery helps you identify the right fields and timing for seeding, verify establishment, and document your practice for stacked programs like EQIP — so you have real field-level evidence when it matters. | | |

This Iowa edition covers every active funding pathway we could verify for Iowa farmers, landowners and rural businesses. The most time-sensitive item this fall is EQIP ranking — apply now. The most underused programs in Iowa are the Beginning Farmer Tax Credit and the Fuel Tax Credit on Form 4136. Both live in the tax return and both get missed by a lot of operations every year. Forward this to an Iowa farmer, landowner or rural business owner who could use it. |
