🌿 Fresh Dirt Alert · Sponsored | | | MDA Nitrogen Management Financial Assistance Program Nitrogen in groundwater is one of the most persistent water-quality issues in Minnesota's agricultural counties. The MDA's Nitrogen Management Financial Assistance Pilot Program pays Minnesota farmers directly to address it. Choose from a menu of ten eligible practices — including cover crops, precision nitrogen application, tile drainage monitoring, and reduced-rate systems — complete the minimum requirements, and receive payment. Eligible farmland must be in a nitrate-sensitive area or priority drinking water protection area. Work with your local SWCD or NRCS technician to develop a qualifying work plan.
