Issue 55 · Week of October 16, 2026 · Minnesota Edition Grant Harvester Weekly funding alerts for the rural entrepreneur
This week: three newly opened SARE producer grants lead the list, with awards ranging from $5,000 to $50,000 across the Northeast and South. Five federal and local opportunities that expired between October 9 and October 15 have cleared off the list. The next stretch starts October 26, when the Northeast SARE Farming Community and Western SARE Farmer/Rancher deadlines land two days apart, followed by November and December rounds for 1890 institutions, Southern producers and agricultural professionals. |
Grant Snap We recently started using a satellite imagery tool called Sentinel Ag that records nutrient deficiency in our fields. We didn't even realize that we were able to apply for EQIP 590 until we used Grant Snap. Grant Snap is a free tool that automatically generates a list of programs available specific for your operation. Try it out now! |

🌿 Fresh Dirt Alert · Sponsored | | | USDA’s $8 Billion Harvest Fuel Relief Program USDA just opened the door to $8 billion in one-time relief for producers facing this harvest season’s fuel and input costs. The Harvest Fuel Relief Program runs through the Commodity Credit Corporation and will pay Title I commodity producers a per-acre rate built from FSA planted acres, ERS cost-of-production estimates and WASDE yields — no crop insurance enrollment required. Payment rates for Title I commodities are expected in November. If you grow specialty crops or fall outside Title I, send your fuel cost data to [email protected] now so USDA can factor it into your rate. And if you haven’t linked a Login.gov account to your USDA profile yet, do it before the application window opens — that’s what gets you a pre-filled application instead of starting from scratch.
To maximize what you get from this program, Sentinel Ag is a tool you can leverage. Satellite imagery gives you a documented record of planted acres and field conditions — useful backup if USDA ever asks for supporting data on your application.
